PERMANENT MAKE-UP (PMU) BROWS

Never underestimate the power of the brows. They have the ability to completely change the look of the face. The human eye uses the brow as an anchor point to give balance and structure to the rest of the face to create an aesthetically-pleasing appearance. Brows accentuate the eyes, shape and give lift to the face, can create a more youthful appearance and play a powerful role how we communicate. They can also change the way you feel about yourself and enhance your confidence.

We are not symmetrical beings and not everyone is blessed with perfect brows. For this reason there is no “one-brow-fits all” at Perfect Strokes. I believe in working with each client and their brow needs on an individual basis and I approach each set of brows differently.

My work is very fluid and I create all my brows in a very intuitive way.

You may have preferences as to the shape, style and appearance of how you would like your brows to finally look and I always take this into consideration. I take great pride in my work and with the years of experience I have in the PMU industry I like to be free to create your brow by applying my professional experience and knowledge to decide what method of tattooing you will be best suited to to achieve your desired look.

My work is very versatile and I can create any type of brow out there; be that natural or something bolder. However, personally I opt for a natural over “made up” look. You should bear in mind that tattooing the brow is not a total replacement for brow makeup and should not be sold as one.

While many of my clients chose to just leave my brow work to show as it is on a day to day basis, many will also from time to time wish to apply makeup to their brows to provide a slightly more prominent look. Having a more prominent tattooed look may not always be what you want so having the brows tattooed in a natural way creates the best of both worlds, where you can use the tattooed brow as a template over which to add makeup when wanted. This greatly cuts down the time it takes to always ensure that your brows appear the same shape and are as symmetrical as can be. And let’s face it, time is a precious thing so who wants to waste it drawing your brows on daily so that you feel human and can face the world!

By tattooing a more natural look I am also ensuring that I will never implant too much pigment, ensuring that the brow will fade beautifully over time and never compromise the integrity of the skin.

To learn about the different methods that can be tattooed please continue to read on, but try not to get too hung up on “what do I want/need” that is my job to establish what will work best for you.

HAIR STROKE BROWS

While I started my career as a Microblading artist, it is no longer a technique that is my preferred choice to create Hair Strokes. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not knocking it but with my knowledge and experience my work has evolved to techniques that I personally feel are better for the skin.

So what’s the difference?
Microblading is delivered utilising a manual tool, onto which a little blade made up of a configuration of tiny needles is fitted to make small incisions/cuts into the brow and mimic the natural appearance of hair.

While this can create crisp, precise strokes, it is a technique that is dependant on skin type and is generally not suitable for a large majority of clients.

MACHINE HAIR STROKE BROWS

This technique is highly skilled and can only be accomplished with patience & practice by an artist. It utilises a single nano/or configuration of needles and tattoo machine to implant pigment to the skin without cutting into it.

It allows for better retention, less trauma to the skin and a smoother healing process. As a result, machine strokes can last longer because the device is able to implant more pigment into each hair stroke, at the correct depth to create soft pixilated hair strokes done in a way that can produce the most natural looking brows.

Contrary to microblading, the machine hair stroke method lessens the risk of creating scare tissue and compromising the integrity of the skin as the procedure is minimally invasive in comparison to microblading where the skin is cut.

POWDER BROWS

This beautiful specialised technique is built up solely of tiny pixels layering the pigment to produce either a soft borderless shadow/mist effect or a fuller more defined made up looking brow. Like with the hair stroke technique it is created using a tattoo machine with either a single nano needle or a set of grouped needles to deposit the pixels of pigment into skin.
The powder brow style brow is ideal for cover-ups/correctional work (where possible) and is the most versatile method suiting all skin types.

Again like with all of my brow work, I opt for a more natural look of powder brow and the aim for me is to provide a beautiful fuller brow that looks as tho you have a hint/blush of colour behind the natural hair as apposed to a heavier saturated look. However, this lighter look is optional and I can always create a slightly heavier makeup look if it works for the client.

OMBRÉ POWDER BROWS

With the powder technique we can also create Ombré brows. The Ombré method is simply a style or subtle colour transition where the brows look lighter at the start of the brow blending into a darker tail or darker at the lower bottom edge of the brow graduating into a lighter soft and sheer upper part of the brow. This beautiful method creates an incredibly natural, airbrushed looking brow.

FUSION/HYBRID BROWS

With the Fusion or Hybrid brow style I can be really creative bringing the best of both brow techniques (hair strokes and powder) together. Strokes can be strategically placed within the whole brow with targeted shading (powder) to build up sparse areas or strokes can be placed just at the starts of the brow and or arch, along with shading throughout the body, arch and tail of the brow.

With all of the techniques and styles I really can make your brow dreams become a reality.
